How to Check a Government Job Notice Is Genuine (7 Official-Site Checks)

How to check a government job notice on the official website

Every exam season, fake job notices spread on social media and messaging apps. Some ask for money, some copy a real notice and change the link. This guide shows how to check a government job notice before you apply.

Seven checks before you trust a notice

  1. Check the website address. Do not judge a notice by its logo or domain ending alone. Start at the recruiting body's established website and find the notice there. Follow any application provider only from that notice or the official careers page, and check that the advertisement number matches.
  2. Find the notice on the official site itself. Do not rely on a forwarded PDF. Open the recruiting body's home page and look under "Recruitment" or "Notices".
  3. Never pay an agent. Use only the payment method stated in the verified recruitment notice. Do not pay a person who promises selection or asks you to use a separate personal payment account. Nobody can sell you a seat.
  4. Read the PDF. Compare the advertisement number, dates, qualifications, vacancies and any fee instructions with the notice found on the issuing site. Professional formatting alone does not prove authenticity.
  5. Check the last date and the dates in it. Fake notices often have no clear dates.
  6. Be careful with interview calls. A call or SMS asking for a deposit is a scam.
  7. Use only official links. Open the site by typing it yourself, not through a short link.
Report fraud: If you lost money, call 1930 (National Cyber Crime helpline) or file a complaint at cybercrime.gov.in.

Our own promise

This is an independent guide, not a recruiting authority. Read each post's source and verification limits, then recheck the issuing site for updates before acting. We do not sell jobs, take fees or ask for personal documents.
