ISRO HSFC Medical Officer: 4 Posts, Apply by Post

ISRO's Human Space Flight Centre, Bengaluru, lists advertisement HSFC:02:RMT:2026 dated 9 October 2026 for Medical Officer SD. Its current owner page says Open. The detailed notice requires the completed application to reach HSFC by 8 November 2026 through ordinary post only. This is a receipt deadline, not a promise that posting on that date is enough.
Which discipline matches your qualification?
- Code01: General Medicine/Internal Medicine, one UR vacancy. MD or DNB in that discipline, with MBBS prerequisite.
- Code02: Physiology, one UR vacancy. MD Physiology, with MBBS prerequisite.
- Code03: Aerospace Medicine, two UR vacancies. MD Aerospace Medicine, with MBBS prerequisite.
The three rows total four vacancies. Required qualifications must be held by 8 November 2026. The notice also requires recognition and registration with the relevant medical authority; foreign-degree equivalence has its own evidence requirement. A related degree is not automatically the specified degree. Read the exact row and job requirements before selecting a code.
Age, pay and selection
The notice states no upper age limit for codes01-03. It lists Level11, basic pay Rs67,700, with applicable non-practising allowance and admissible allowances. This is not a take-home-pay quote. Selection involves screening and interview; holding the minimum qualification does not guarantee an interview or appointment.
Why do the fee amounts differ?
The non-refundable application fee is Rs250, but all candidates initially pay Rs750 per application. Refund is conditional on appearing for interview: the specified exempt categories receive the full Rs750 back, while other eligible attendees receive Rs500 after the Rs250 deduction. The notice names women, SC/ST/PwBD and ex-servicemen for full refund. Do not assume registration alone triggers a refund.
Use the notice's BharatKosh/NTRP instructions, attach the payment receipt and enter bank details accurately. Service charges, if any, are borne by the applicant. Follow the latest owner instructions rather than a payment link sent by an intermediary.
Prepare the envelope step by step
- Download the prescribed AnnexureI application from the owner recruitment route.
- Type it neatly, choose the correct post code and complete all fields. Handwritten applications are not accepted.
- Sign the form and follow the exact photograph instructions. Enclose prerequisite and essential-qualification evidence and the payment receipt.
- Use the envelope superscription shown in the notice: APPLICATION TO THE POST OF MEDICAL OFFICER - SD, POST CODE NO., followed by the relevant code.
- Copy the complete recipient block from page7 of the original notice: Administrative Officer, Recruitment Section, HSFC, ISRO, Department of Space, Doddanekundi, Bengaluru, Karnataka560037.
- Send through the prescribed ordinary-post route early enough for receipt by8November. Email, hand delivery or another mode is not a substitute under this notice.
A final worksheet
Keep a private checklist linking each eligibility statement to your certificate, the selected discipline, fee receipt and enclosed documents. Applying for more than one post needs separate applications. Preserve your own copy, but note that the notice does not promise an acknowledgement/registration number for the submission. A payment receipt alone is not proof that HSFC received the complete application.

Why the application route needs extra care
The recruitment listing has a general last-date field, but the detailed HSFC advertisement controls the submission method. Here it requires ordinary post and receipt at HSFC by 8 November 2026. Do not convert that into an online-application instruction just because other ISRO recruitments use a portal. URSC and HSFC are separate notices with different routes and fees.
Posting a letter is not the same event as delivery to the recruiting office. The notice rejects late or delayed receipt and asks candidates to send well in advance. This guide cannot predict the postal transit time from your location or guarantee arrival. Check the exact mode with the postal service while preserving the notice's ordinary-post requirement; do not substitute another mode on the assumption that faster is automatically acceptable.
Build the application around one discipline
Make a private worksheet with the selected post code, essential degree, MBBS prerequisite and recognition or registration evidence. Code01 accepts the specified General/Internal Medicine MD or DNB route. Code02 and code03 name their own MD disciplines. The qualifications are not interchangeable simply because all posts are medical. Keep foreign-degree equivalence evidence separate where the notice requires it.
Then compare the neatly typed AnnexureI with your records. Check that the name, contact details, selected code, qualification dates and enclosed documents agree. The required qualifications must be possessed by the notice's last date. If applying for more than one post, follow the separate-application instruction rather than putting different disciplines into one unclear application.
Fee evidence and application evidence are different
The BharatKosh payment receipt supports the fee payment. It does not prove that the signed form, supporting certificates and envelope reached HSFC. Keep a private copy of the form and enclosures as well as the receipt. The notice says no acknowledgement or registration number will be provided for the submission, so do not promise readers an online tracking dashboard or an automatic confirmation email.
The initial Rs750 payment and later conditional refund must also be kept separate. The full Rs750 or partial Rs500 refund described in the notice depends on the applicable category and appearing for interview. Accurate bank details matter, and the authority disclaims failed refunds caused by incorrect details. There is no basis here to promise that every application fee comes back.
Before sealing the envelope
- Use the prescribed typed form and sign it as instructed.
- Check the relevant discipline and prerequisite evidence.
- Follow the photograph and enclosure instructions from the original PDF.
- Attach the fee receipt and retain a copy for yourself.
- Copy the full addressee block and post-code superscription from the notice.
- Recheck the owner page for corrections before sending through ordinary post.
A missing document, wrong mode or late receipt can matter even when the applicant has the right degree. This checklist is for careful preparation; it does not establish personal eligibility or submission, and it cannot guarantee shortlisting.
