ISRO URSC Recruitment 2026: Technician and Driver Guide
Sources reviewed: 30 October 2026. Check linked policies or notices for later changes.

Which recruitment is this?
ISRO's owner page lists advertisement URSC:04:2026, dated 24 October 2026, for Technician-B and driver posts at U R Rao Satellite Centre, Bengaluru. It currently shows Open and a 13 November 2026 online closing date. The PDF also gives that date for fee payment and eligibility. Recheck the owner page for changes before applying.
Match the post code, not just the headline
The notice has separate trade and driver rows. For example, code 01 lists SSLC/SSC/Matriculation plus relevant NCVT ITI/NTC/NAC qualifications across specified electronics-related trades. Other codes have their own requirements. A general ITI certificate is not proof of eligibility for every trade. Driver rows separately specify licences and experience; read the exact row you intend to select.
Age and pay need their own check
The PDF lists 18-35 years as of 13 November 2026 for the shown Technician-B and driver categories. Relaxations depend on category, reservation and applicable conditions; they are not a blanket extra age allowance for everyone. It lists Technician-B at Level 3, basic ₹21,700 per month plus admissible allowances, and drivers at Level 2, basic ₹19,900 plus allowances. These are not take-home promises.
Why does the fee show two amounts?
The notice says the non-refundable application fee is ₹100, but all candidates initially pay ₹500 per application. Refunds depend on appearing in the written test. It describes full refunds for specified exempt groups and ₹400 for other eligible attendees. Do not call the initial payment ₹100 or promise a refund just for submitting a form. Applicable service charges are borne by the applicant.
Prepare before opening the form
- Read the whole owner PDF and select the exact post code.
- Check trade, marks, licence and experience requirements against your documents.
- Compare age and category conditions using the notice's eligibility date.
- Prepare legible uploads in the required format.
- Use the application link from the owner recruitment page, not an unsolicited payment message.
- Keep both submitted-application and payment evidence.
A post-code worksheet
Make a private row with post code, required qualification, your certificate, date and any condition still unclear. A candidate with an electronics qualification should compare code 01's exact accepted trades rather than assume it covers an unrelated mechanical post. A driver must separately match the required licence and experience. Ask the recruiting authority when the documents do not clearly fit.
What does submission establish?
It establishes only that you submitted through the route, not that eligibility or selection is confirmed. The notice says uploaded documents are checked during the skill-test process and admission to a test does not itself establish eligibility. Keep checking the owner route for corrections and further instructions. This guide does not certify selection, a full vacancy-category table or a personal eligibility decision.

Three checks that prevent avoidable application errors
Read each qualification as a complete condition
Start with the post code and read across the whole row, including trade names, awarding body, licence and experience conditions where relevant. The electronics row is not a general invitation for every ITI holder. If your certificate uses a different trade name, compare it with the accepted names in the notice rather than assuming a near match is enough. This guide cannot approve an equivalence that the authority has not accepted.
Separate the closing date from the test date
The notice's 13 November 2026 date is used for application closure, fee payment and eligibility. It does not mean that a written test will happen that day. Keep the application confirmation, payment reference and official instructions in separate records. Later test or skill-test information must come from the recruiting authority, not a guessed schedule or a forwarded message.
Budget for the initial payment
A candidate should plan for the initial Rs500 per application, plus applicable service charges. The later conditional refund is a different event. For other eligible written-test attendees the notice describes Rs400 back after retaining the Rs100 fee. Specified exempt groups have the full-refund provision, also subject to attendance and the notice's conditions. Do not spend on the assumption that a refund is guaranteed immediately after registration.
A document-first review before submitting
Write your selected post code at the top of a private checklist. Under it, list every required qualification and the document that supports it. Next list your date of birth, relevant category evidence and the eligibility date from the notice. For driver posts, add a separate licence and experience section. For technical posts, add the exact trade and certificate body. This prevents one attractive headline from replacing the actual eligibility row.
Then compare the form entries with the documents before submission. Names, dates and post codes should agree. Keep copies legible and within the portal's current upload instructions. If a condition remains unclear, seek clarification through the official recruitment route rather than altering a certificate description to make it look eligible. The authority's scrutiny can still reject an application even after a form or fee was accepted.
After the form is submitted
Retain a copy of the submitted application and payment evidence. Read later owner updates and follow the test instructions when issued. Do not interpret a payment debit, an application number or a test admission as selection. The notice includes written/CBT and qualifying skill-test stages for the relevant posts; use the full notice for the exact scheme, qualifying standards and document checks applicable to your post.
This article deliberately does not invent a test date, result date, cut-off score or personal selection probability. A useful application guide helps you make the right checks; it cannot replace the recruiting authority's decision or promise a job.
Frequently asked questions
Is the application fee only Rs100?
No. The notice requires an initial Rs500 per application. Rs100 is the non-refundable application-fee component, with conditional refund provisions described separately.
Will every applicant get a refund?
No. The notice ties the refund to appearing in the written test and applicable category conditions. Submission alone is not enough.
Can any ITI trade apply for every Technician-B post?
No. Match the exact post code, accepted trade and required certificate conditions in the advertisement.
Are all driver posts the same?
No. Read the licence, experience and other requirements for the exact driver row. A general driving licence is not proof of meeting every listed condition.
Is 13 November the exam date?
No. It is the stated application, fee-payment and eligibility date in the checked notice. Test dates must be verified from later official instructions.
Is the listed basic pay take-home salary?
No. The notice lists pay levels and basic pay with applicable allowances. It is not a personal take-home calculation.
Does an application number confirm eligibility?
No. Submission and later admission do not replace the authority's document scrutiny or selection process.
Where should I check changes?
