Semi-Conductor Laboratory’s Advertisement SCL:DR:01/2026 lists administrative and technical vacancies. Applications are scheduled to open on November 1, 2026; this is not an “apply today” notice on October 25.
How many vacancies are listed?
The notice lists 12 administrative posts, 30 Technical Assistant posts and 41 Technician B posts, a total of 83. What are the application dates?
The issuing notice gives November 1, 2026 at 11:00 hours as the opening and November 30, 2026 at 17:00 hours as the closing time for applications and fee payment. It uses November 30 as the cut-off for age and qualifications. Recheck the careers page for any change before applying.
Who is eligible?
Eligibility is post-specific. The Junior Personal Assistant entry includes Class 12 plus dictation and computer transcription conditions. Technical Assistant entries specify the relevant first-class diploma or degree route and experience. Technician B entries have their own trade qualifications. Do not treat “10th/12th pass” as a common qualification for all 83 posts.
Which age limits should you check?
The notice lists upper ages of 35 for the three officer categories and 25 for Junior Personal Assistant. The largest trade groups are Electronics (12 Technical Assistant and 10 Technician 'B' posts) and Electronics Mechanic (8 Technician 'B' posts). Present posting is at SCL, S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali), but the notice says SCL may post staff anywhere in India.
Age relaxation (as listed in the notice)

Everyone pays the full amount first. The application fee part is refunded only to Women/SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen candidates who appear in the computer based test, to the bank account entered in the form, so fill bank details carefully.
Selection process
- Officer posts: Computer Based Test (CBT) and Personal Interview, with 60:40 weightage for the panel.
- Junior Personal Assistant: CBT and stenography skill test; selection on CBT marks, subject to qualifying the skill test.
- Technical Assistant and Technician 'B': CBT and trade-wise skill test on a go/no-go basis; shortlisting for the skill test is 1:5 (minimum 10) against category-wise vacancies.
- CBT cities listed: New Delhi, Chandigarh, Chennai, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Kolkata. Skill test/interview at S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali)/Chandigarh only. TA/DA is not paid for the CBT.
Step-by-step: how to apply (from 1 November)
- Go to www.scl.gov.in/career.html and open the online application link once it is live.
- Register with your full name, date of birth, a valid email ID and mobile number; save the registration number you receive.
- Choose your post code. You can apply for only one administrative post; for technical posts you can apply for both Technical Assistant and Technician 'B', one trade per post.
- Upload photo, signature, left thumb impression (on plain white paper) and certificates, each within 50 KB.
- Pay the examination fee online before 30 November 2026, 17:00 hours. Do not press Refresh or Back during payment.
- Download and print the registration confirmation form and keep it safe.
