The notice gives OBC (NCL) candidates 3 years and SC/ST candidates 5 years of age relaxation over the UR/EWS limit (Ex-Servicemen/Ex-Agniveer and PwBD as per GOI guidelines), with a 56-year ceiling after all relaxations. For Technical Assistant posts a diploma is essential: B.E./B.Tech holders without the diploma will not be considered.

What contract and fee terms should you know?

The advertised term is three years, extendable by two years under the notice's conditions. The prescribed non-refundable application fee is ₹ 200. The notice exempts SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen and eligible internal candidates as stated there. Verify your category and eligibility before paying; the fee is not a selection guarantee.

How should you apply safely?

Use the online application system reached from GSL's own careers section. The notice says applications by another mode are not accepted for 09/2026. Read the exact post row, gather documents, review entries and keep the submitted form and payment proof. This guide does not collect applications, documents or fees.

Selection process

The notice lists a written test (CBT or pen-and-paper, normally 25% general aptitude and 75% subject/trade), document verification and a skill/trade test.

Build an eligibility worksheet for one post

Do not apply to a vacancy count. Apply to a specific post whose row you have read. Open the latest employer notice from the careers page and write the exact post name at the top of a private worksheet. Then separate these checks:

  • Qualification: the course, trade or discipline named in that row, and the document that proves yours.
  • Experience: the kind and duration required for that post. A general work-history total is not automatically the same as relevant experience.
  • Age and cutoff: the notice's assessment date, your applicable category and any relaxation you are relying on. Do not assume a relaxation without reading its conditions.
  • Application route: the employer's current instructions for this advertisement, not instructions copied from another recruitment on the same website.
  • Fee: the rule that applies to your category before paying. This blog does not collect fees.

Keep evidence of the application, not only a screenshot of the vacancy

Before submission, compare the entered details with your documents. After submission, retain the actual submitted form, any acknowledgement and payment proof where applicable. A screenshot of a jobs article is not an application receipt.

Check the employer's careers page again for a corrigendum before relying on the original notice. If a summary and the employer's current document disagree, pause the affected decision and use the employer's clarification. This worksheet does not determine your eligibility or guarantee selection. It helps you identify the exact question to ask before spending time or money on the application.
